The first single from Shylmagoghnar's upcoming Sophomore LP, 'Transience', is out and it's everything I hoped it would be. Their debut LP, appropriately titled 'Emergence', was a remarkably compelling synthesis of black and death metal and the title track to its follow-up feels very much like a natural progression from the compositions on 'Emergence'. On the new single, the band said in a Facebook post: "Our journey begins with an artist in search of meaning and perfection, finding himself struggling with his mortal boundaries as he embarks on an arduous quest. Follow us beyond a lost dream to where epiphany and insanity go hand in hand." 'Transience' will be released worldwide on 29th of June 2018 via Napalm Records. You can pre-order the album through Napalm's record store or through Shylmagoghnar's Bandcamp page. If the first track from 'Transience' is any indication of what the band has crafted for us this is shaping up to be a must-own album of 2018.
