Connecticut's Shadow Of Intent have released a new single titled "Underneath A Sullen Moon" (which you can view below). The song comes as they write and record their follow-up to 2017's "Reclaimer". Due to a massive touring schedule and other band commitments the band is slowly chipping away at the writing and recording process and hope to have a final, yet to be titled release in 2019. "Underneath A Sullen Moon" was produced by SoI guitarist Chris Wiseman, and mixed by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy, Beyond Creation).
Vocalist Ben Duerr had some words on the meaning behind the song: "Although the song is not about this exact situation, it is indeed about suicide. I wrote this track about myself and an attempt I made on my own life a few years ago. This song is very personal to me. Although it is a bit exaggerated, it was more of a “what if I went through with it?” scenario. From there I sculpted this into what will be the next concept."
Shadow Of Intent has a lot to live for as not only are they oozing talent and receiving plenty of good reviews, but they will be touring like madmen. April 13th begins the Chaos And Carnage Tour with such acts as Carnifex, Oceano, Winds Of Plague, and Archspire. If that were not enough, they will also be playing New England Metal and Hardcore Festival at the Palladium in Worcester, MA on April 20th, 2018. This will see them alongside some legendary extreme metal acts. They will also start their first North American tour beginning in Chicago on June 08th and wrapping up July 13th in Minneapolis. They will be playing with Aversions Crown, Fleshgod Apocalypse, The Black Dahlia Murder, and Whitechapel. I'm exhausted just thinking about that much touring in such a short amount of time.
Shadow Of Intent are a four-piece band formed in 2013, designated as "melodic deathcore", and "symphonic blackened deathcore". They have released one EP, " Inferi Sententia", and two full length albums, 2016's " Primordial" and 2017's "Reclaimer".
