As it turns out, my adopted home state of Pennsylvania knows a thing or two about progressive death metal. We're still reveling in the glory that is Rivers of Nihil's brilliant new LP 'Where Owls Know My name' here in the Keystone State, and Mt. Carmel, PA's favorite progressive sons Burial In The Sky are about to join the party. With a very much revamped line-up, featuring new vocalist Jorel Hart, drummer and pianist Sam Stewart, and bassist/saxophonist Zach Strouse (who astute metal heads will recognize as the sax player on the Rivers of Nihil album), Burial In The Sky are poised to release 'Creatio et Hominus', their follow-up to 2016's 'Persistence of Thought', on June 1st of this year.
-GET YOUR CONCERT TICKETS HERE AND SUPPORT METAL ABYSS- Mind Eraser Promotions sent us the press release that included the link to 'The Pivotal Flame,' the first single off of 'Creatio et Hominus'. This is progressive, acid-dipped death metal of the highest order, and a track that portends yet another must-own album from the state that has given us Big Macs, the revolving door and Ketchup. Check out the link below and as always, let us know what you think in the comments. Rage on! JPR
