Full Frontal Friday Third Time's A Charm: Kardashev- "The Almanac"

Unfortunately, this Full-Frontal Friday blog does not feature a pictorial of Debbie Harry circa 1979. To help soften the blow of this terrible, terrible disappointment, allow me to suggest that you give this a listen. Tempe, Arizona's Kardashev bill themselves as a "Progressive Death Metal group focusing on the advancement of the human race through themes of technology, selflessness, love and altruism." On their most recent offering, 2017's 'The Almanac,' the band have crafted an album that exists somewhere in the ether between distant, lonely worlds. Melding the drone of post-rock rhythm guitars with lethargic tom strikes, grueling screams and soothing cleans, Kardashev have found a remarkable balance between the heavy and the melodic on this album. A thematic follow-up to their 2013 EP 'Excipio,' you can experience 'The Almanac' in its entirety below. Both digital and physical copies of the album are available on the band's Bandcamp page. Give them a like over on their Facebook page and let them know that some dork on the internet said that they're his current Youtube addiction. And by all means, drop us a line in the comments and let us know what you think. Rage on! JPR
